A healthy diet for the future mother
A healthy and balanced diet during pregnancy is one of the fundamental elements for the future mother and her baby. Pregnant women who follow an adequate diet reduce the risk of complications during the pregnancy and at the time of giving birth.
For this reason it is important to follow a diet with regular quantities of proteins, calories, vitamins and minerals in order to ensure that the cellular development of the baby will be perfect and therefore avoiding the possibility that the baby is underweight. An ideal diet during pregnancy should contain milk, meat, cereals, fruits and vegetables which are natural sources of nutrients.
One of the nutrients present in dairy products is calcium. This nutrient plays a fundamental role in the organism of a future mother by helping to maintain blood pressure, muscular contraction and heartbeat functioning well. Calcium is also fundamental for the formation of the baby's bone structure in addition to having an important role in the production of maternal milk. As well as containing calcium, milk is also an excellent source of vitamin A, essential for embryonic development and growth.
We can therefore emphasize the importance of consuming milk and its derivatives as part of an ideal diet during pregnancy as they are sources of calcium and proteins, indispensable at any phase of life but which become even more important during pregnancy.
